German cockroaches favor warm, humid spaces near food and water — kitchens, behind appliances, under sinks — and Carrier's a climate squarely in Tornado Alley, with real seasonal extremes and frequent severe spring thunderstorms keeps them active most of the year. American cockroaches, larger and reddish-brown, prefer basements, drains, and utility rooms. A mix of established Oklahoma City-area neighborhoods and newer suburban development, most on slab foundations built for the region's clay soil.
