German cockroaches favor warm, humid spaces near food and water — kitchens, behind appliances, under sinks — and Melvindale's a humid continental climate with hot, humid summers, cold winters, and moderate lake-effect influence from Lake Huron and Lake Erie keeps them active most of the year. American cockroaches, larger and reddish-brown, prefer basements, drains, and utility rooms. Wood-frame and brick construction from the manufacturing era dominates, alongside newer suburban development further out.
Because sanitation and moisture are almost always part of the problem, our process pairs targeted gel-bait treatment with a review of what's drawing roaches in — a leak, exposed food storage, cluttered voids. Broadcast sprays just scatter a colony; bait placed at the harborage site eliminates it. A follow-up visit confirms results.
