German cockroaches favor warm, humid spaces near food and water — kitchens, behind appliances, under sinks — and Solomon's a high-desert climate at elevated elevation, hotter than the mountain zones but cooler than the Phoenix valley, with a real monsoon season keeps them active most of the year. American cockroaches, larger and reddish-brown, prefer basements, drains, and utility rooms. Older mining-company homes and later ranch-style construction share hillside terrain here, with newer building filling in where the land allows.
Treatment starts with locating the harborage points — the tight, warm, food-adjacent spaces roaches actually live in — and applying gel bait directly there rather than spraying open floor space.
