Mosquitoes need standing water to breed, and ticks need tall grass, leaf litter, or brush to ambush a host — both of which are common features of Pewee Valley properties. a humid climate with a long summer season and winters that bring real, if not extreme, cold extends the active season for both considerably.
Our approach starts with identifying every standing-water source and brush or tall-grass area on the property, since those are where mosquitoes breed and ticks wait for a host. We treat vegetation and resting areas with a barrier spray and apply larvicide to any water that can't be drained, repeating on a seasonal schedule for ongoing control.
