Albers's housing stock is part of what determines termite risk. Older wood-frame and brick homes are common throughout this region, from Metro East suburbs to more rural downstate towns. Combined with the local climate — a climate shaped by the region's lower latitude and river-valley terrain, generally warmer and more humid than Chicago — soil-to-wood contact points around the foundation are the most common entry route.
Because termite colonies operate underground and out of sight, our process leans heavily on inspection: checking every foundation wall, sill plate, and crawl space for activity. From there we deploy either soil treatment or a Sentricon-style bait and monitoring program, both backed by a written service report.
