Subterranean termites need soil contact and moisture to thrive, and Altavista's conditions — a humid continental-leaning climate moderated by elevation, with colder winters and cooler summers than the rest of Virginia — create exactly that. A blend of historic Valley agricultural homes and older coalfield-era construction farther southwest. Termite colonies can go undetected for years, quietly compromising structural wood the entire time.
Because termite colonies operate underground and out of sight, our process leans heavily on inspection: checking every foundation wall, sill plate, and crawl space for activity. From there we deploy either soil treatment or a Sentricon-style bait and monitoring program, both backed by a written service report.
