Atwater's housing stock is part of what determines termite risk. A mix of older farmworker and agricultural-town housing and newer suburban tract construction, most on slab foundations built for heat rather than cold. Combined with the local climate — a climate defined by extreme summer heat — well over 100°F is common — and cool, foggy winters — soil-to-wood contact points around the foundation are the most common entry route.
Because termite colonies operate underground and out of sight, our process leans heavily on inspection: checking every foundation wall, sill plate, and crawl space for activity. From there we deploy either soil treatment or a Sentricon-style bait and monitoring program, both backed by a written service report.
