Cecil's housing stock is part of what determines termite risk. A mix of historic homes in Savannah's and Macon's older districts and newer suburban development, many on crawl spaces given the high coastal water table. Combined with the local climate — a climate with long, hot summers and short, mild winters, more consistently warm than inland north Georgia — soil-to-wood contact points around the foundation are the most common entry route.
Termite treatment starts with identifying exactly where the colony is accessing the structure, since a targeted approach is far more effective than a blanket treatment. Depending on the property, we recommend either a liquid soil treatment creating a barrier around the foundation, or a bait-station monitoring system that's checked on a schedule.
