Charlevoix's housing stock is part of what determines termite risk. Housing here ranges from historic furniture-industry-era homes in Grand Rapids to rustic cabins and rural housing in the north and Upper Peninsula. Combined with the local climate — a climate shaped by proximity to Lake Michigan and, farther north, genuinely severe Upper Peninsula winters — soil-to-wood contact points around the foundation are the most common entry route.
Because termite colonies operate underground and out of sight, our process leans heavily on inspection: checking every foundation wall, sill plate, and crawl space for activity. From there we deploy either soil treatment or a Sentricon-style bait and monitoring program, both backed by a written service report.
