Subterranean termites need soil contact and moisture to thrive, and Coleraine's conditions — a genuinely severe four-season climate, with winter cold snaps that regularly reach well below zero — create exactly that. A mix of historic Twin Cities neighborhoods and rapidly expanding new suburban subdivisions, nearly all with full basements built for severe winters. Termite colonies can go undetected for years, quietly compromising structural wood the entire time.
Because termite colonies operate underground and out of sight, our process leans heavily on inspection: checking every foundation wall, sill plate, and crawl space for activity. From there we deploy either soil treatment or a Sentricon-style bait and monitoring program, both backed by a written service report.
