Cuero's housing stock is part of what determines termite risk. Slab-on-grade homes dominate, built to handle the region's heavy rainfall and flat, flood-prone terrain. Combined with the local climate — one of the most humid climates in the continental U.S., with year-round pest activity and minimal winter dormancy — soil-to-wood contact points around the foundation are the most common entry route.
Termite treatment starts with identifying exactly where the colony is accessing the structure, since a targeted approach is far more effective than a blanket treatment. Depending on the property, we recommend either a liquid soil treatment creating a barrier around the foundation, or a bait-station monitoring system that's checked on a schedule.
