Subterranean termites need soil contact and moisture to thrive, and Duck Hill's conditions — a humid subtropical climate with hot, humid summers and mild winters, similar to the Delta but with more elevation and forest cover — create exactly that. Mid-century homes and newer subdivisions share this area, with wooded, rolling lots more common than in the flat Delta to the west. Termite colonies can go undetected for years, quietly compromising structural wood the entire time.
Termite treatment starts with identifying exactly where the colony is accessing the structure, since a targeted approach is far more effective than a blanket treatment. Depending on the property, we recommend either a liquid soil treatment creating a barrier around the foundation, or a bait-station monitoring system that's checked on a schedule.
