Dunlevy's housing stock is part of what determines termite risk. Brick and frame construction from the steel era dominates, much of it built directly into the region's steep terrain. Combined with the local climate — a humid continental climate with hot, humid summers, cold snowy winters, and frequent overcast skies — soil-to-wood contact points around the foundation are the most common entry route.
Termite treatment starts with identifying exactly where the colony is accessing the structure, since a targeted approach is far more effective than a blanket treatment. Depending on the property, we recommend either a liquid soil treatment creating a barrier around the foundation, or a bait-station monitoring system that's checked on a schedule.
