Termites don't announce themselves the way most pests do. In Fluvanna, a climate defined by low rainfall and wide temperature extremes, closer to New Mexico or eastern Colorado than the humid Texas Gulf Coast, and Slab-on-grade homes dominate here, built for a dry climate rather than heavy rainfall or humidity. Regular inspection is the only reliable way to catch a colony before it causes real structural damage.
Termite treatment starts with identifying exactly where the colony is accessing the structure, since a targeted approach is far more effective than a blanket treatment. Depending on the property, we recommend either a liquid soil treatment creating a barrier around the foundation, or a bait-station monitoring system that's checked on a schedule.
