Idyllwild's housing stock is part of what determines termite risk. A mix of mid-century stucco homes and newer suburban tract construction, most on slab foundations with minimal need for winter-focused design. Combined with the local climate — a dry-summer subtropical climate, warmer inland and cooler right along the coast — soil-to-wood contact points around the foundation are the most common entry route.
Because termite colonies operate underground and out of sight, our process leans heavily on inspection: checking every foundation wall, sill plate, and crawl space for activity. From there we deploy either soil treatment or a Sentricon-style bait and monitoring program, both backed by a written service report.
