Kathleen's housing stock is part of what determines termite risk. Slab-on-grade stucco and concrete-block homes dominate, built rapidly during the region's sustained growth. Combined with the local climate — a climate with a pronounced wet season from June through October and a milder dry season the rest of the year — soil-to-wood contact points around the foundation are the most common entry route.
Termite treatment starts with identifying exactly where the colony is accessing the structure, since a targeted approach is far more effective than a blanket treatment. Depending on the property, we recommend either a liquid soil treatment creating a barrier around the foundation, or a bait-station monitoring system that's checked on a schedule.
