Subterranean termites need soil contact and moisture to thrive, and Lytle's conditions — a climate with hot summers and mild winters, growing progressively warmer and drier the further south toward the border — create exactly that. A mix of Hill Country limestone-and-stucco homes and newer suburban development around Austin and San Antonio, most on slab foundations. Termite colonies can go undetected for years, quietly compromising structural wood the entire time.
Termite treatment starts with identifying exactly where the colony is accessing the structure, since a targeted approach is far more effective than a blanket treatment. Depending on the property, we recommend either a liquid soil treatment creating a barrier around the foundation, or a bait-station monitoring system that's checked on a schedule.
