Mammoth's housing stock is part of what determines termite risk. Older adobe and masonry construction near the historic core gives way to newer stucco tract homes and manufactured housing further out. Combined with the local climate — a high-desert climate shaped by elevation as much as latitude — hot but rarely as extreme as Phoenix, with meaningful monsoon rainfall — soil-to-wood contact points around the foundation are the most common entry route.
Termite treatment starts with identifying exactly where the colony is accessing the structure, since a targeted approach is far more effective than a blanket treatment. Depending on the property, we recommend either a liquid soil treatment creating a barrier around the foundation, or a bait-station monitoring system that's checked on a schedule.
