Subterranean termites need soil contact and moisture to thrive, and Mount Solon's conditions — a climate shaped by the region's position near the Chesapeake Bay and Piedmont, with genuine seasonal extremes — create exactly that. Housing spans mid-century suburban homes to newer construction pushing outward toward the Blue Ridge foothills. Termite colonies can go undetected for years, quietly compromising structural wood the entire time.
Because termite colonies operate underground and out of sight, our process leans heavily on inspection: checking every foundation wall, sill plate, and crawl space for activity. From there we deploy either soil treatment or a Sentricon-style bait and monitoring program, both backed by a written service report.
