Subterranean termites need soil contact and moisture to thrive, and Ohlman's conditions — a climate shaped by the region's lower latitude and river-valley terrain, generally warmer and more humid than Chicago — create exactly that. Older wood-frame and brick homes are common throughout this region, from Metro East suburbs to more rural downstate towns. Termite colonies can go undetected for years, quietly compromising structural wood the entire time.
Because termite colonies operate underground and out of sight, our process leans heavily on inspection: checking every foundation wall, sill plate, and crawl space for activity. From there we deploy either soil treatment or a Sentricon-style bait and monitoring program, both backed by a written service report.
