Olmito's housing stock is part of what determines termite risk. A mix of Hill Country limestone-and-stucco homes and newer suburban development around Austin and San Antonio, most on slab foundations. Combined with the local climate — a climate with hot summers and mild winters, growing progressively warmer and drier the further south toward the border — soil-to-wood contact points around the foundation are the most common entry route.
Termite treatment starts with identifying exactly where the colony is accessing the structure, since a targeted approach is far more effective than a blanket treatment. Depending on the property, we recommend either a liquid soil treatment creating a barrier around the foundation, or a bait-station monitoring system that's checked on a schedule.
