Paradise Valley's housing stock is part of what determines termite risk. Single-story and two-story stucco homes on slab foundations dominate, with irrigated or xeriscaped yards and block walls in place of basements. Combined with the local climate — a hot, low-desert climate with brutally hot summers — 110°F+ is routine from June through August — and mild, dry winters — soil-to-wood contact points around the foundation are the most common entry route.
Termite treatment starts with identifying exactly where the colony is accessing the structure, since a targeted approach is far more effective than a blanket treatment. Depending on the property, we recommend either a liquid soil treatment creating a barrier around the foundation, or a bait-station monitoring system that's checked on a schedule.
