Rillito's housing stock is part of what determines termite risk. A blend of historic adobe construction, mid-century block homes, and newer manufactured or stucco housing spread across larger rural parcels. Combined with the local climate — a warm Sonoran Desert climate, somewhat milder than the Phoenix valley thanks to higher elevation, with a pronounced summer monsoon — soil-to-wood contact points around the foundation are the most common entry route.
Termite treatment starts with identifying exactly where the colony is accessing the structure, since a targeted approach is far more effective than a blanket treatment. Depending on the property, we recommend either a liquid soil treatment creating a barrier around the foundation, or a bait-station monitoring system that's checked on a schedule.
