Tarrs's housing stock is part of what determines termite risk. A mix of century-old hillside neighborhoods and newer suburban development further from the city core. Combined with the local climate — a humid, gray-winter climate with hot summers and heavier-than-average snowfall for the latitude — soil-to-wood contact points around the foundation are the most common entry route.
Termite treatment starts with identifying exactly where the colony is accessing the structure, since a targeted approach is far more effective than a blanket treatment. Depending on the property, we recommend either a liquid soil treatment creating a barrier around the foundation, or a bait-station monitoring system that's checked on a schedule.
