Tilly's housing stock is part of what determines termite risk. A mix of older rural homes surrounded by pine timberland and modest in-town housing, with wood-frame construction common throughout. Combined with the local climate — a hot, humid climate blanketed by pine forest, typical of the Gulf Coastal Plain region of south Arkansas — soil-to-wood contact points around the foundation are the most common entry route.
Termite treatment starts with identifying exactly where the colony is accessing the structure, since a targeted approach is far more effective than a blanket treatment. Depending on the property, we recommend either a liquid soil treatment creating a barrier around the foundation, or a bait-station monitoring system that's checked on a schedule.
