Subterranean termites need soil contact and moisture to thrive, and Tippo's conditions — a climate defined by heat and humidity for most of the year, moderated only slightly by mild Delta winters — create exactly that. Older wood-frame construction is common throughout the Delta, much of it on crawl spaces that trap moisture given the region's high water table. Termite colonies can go undetected for years, quietly compromising structural wood the entire time.
Termite treatment starts with identifying exactly where the colony is accessing the structure, since a targeted approach is far more effective than a blanket treatment. Depending on the property, we recommend either a liquid soil treatment creating a barrier around the foundation, or a bait-station monitoring system that's checked on a schedule.
