Tome's housing stock is part of what determines termite risk. Adobe-style and stucco homes are common here, ranging from historic Rio Grande valley construction to newer suburban builds. Combined with the local climate — a dry, sunny climate with four real seasons, milder in summer than Phoenix but colder in winter — soil-to-wood contact points around the foundation are the most common entry route.
Termite treatment starts with identifying exactly where the colony is accessing the structure, since a targeted approach is far more effective than a blanket treatment. Depending on the property, we recommend either a liquid soil treatment creating a barrier around the foundation, or a bait-station monitoring system that's checked on a schedule.
