Subterranean termites need soil contact and moisture to thrive, and Vernalis's conditions — a climate defined by extreme summer heat — well over 100°F is common — and cool, foggy winters — create exactly that. A mix of older farmworker and agricultural-town housing and newer suburban tract construction, most on slab foundations built for heat rather than cold. Termite colonies can go undetected for years, quietly compromising structural wood the entire time.
Termite treatment starts with identifying exactly where the colony is accessing the structure, since a targeted approach is far more effective than a blanket treatment. Depending on the property, we recommend either a liquid soil treatment creating a barrier around the foundation, or a bait-station monitoring system that's checked on a schedule.
