Subterranean termites need soil contact and moisture to thrive, and Wellesley's conditions — a four-season climate tempered by ocean proximity, with real winter cold but less extreme than inland areas — create exactly that. A mix of historic sea-captain homes, mid-century beach cottages, and newer construction, many seasonal. Termite colonies can go undetected for years, quietly compromising structural wood the entire time.
Because termite colonies operate underground and out of sight, our process leans heavily on inspection: checking every foundation wall, sill plate, and crawl space for activity. From there we deploy either soil treatment or a Sentricon-style bait and monitoring program, both backed by a written service report.
