Mosquitoes need standing water to breed, and ticks need tall grass, leaf litter, or brush to ambush a host — both of which are common features of Ocate properties. a windswept climate where winter cold and wind define much of the year on this stretch of the high plains extends the active season for both considerably.
Our approach starts with identifying every standing-water source and brush or tall-grass area on the property, since those are where mosquitoes breed and ticks wait for a host. We treat vegetation and resting areas with a barrier spray and apply larvicide to any water that can't be drained, repeating on a seasonal schedule for ongoing control.
