Los Altos's housing stock is part of what determines termite risk. A mix of older wood-frame Victorian and mid-century homes and newer high-density construction, most without air conditioning given the mild climate. Combined with the local climate — a temperate climate with minimal seasonal temperature swing, though fog and microclimates vary sharply by neighborhood — soil-to-wood contact points around the foundation are the most common entry route.
Because termite colonies operate underground and out of sight, our process leans heavily on inspection: checking every foundation wall, sill plate, and crawl space for activity. From there we deploy either soil treatment or a Sentricon-style bait and monitoring program, both backed by a written service report.
